ADS5281 SPI Interface voltage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS5281

Hello there,

This should be a simple question, I think I am having a moment.

The ADC  ADS5281 has both AVDD and LVDD power pins, running at 3v3 and 1v8 respectively.

Does this mean the SPI interface also runs at 1v8, as I assume it is powered by the Digital Supply pins/circuitry or does this interface at 3v3?

Hope you can help

  • Hi,

I would have to ask the design team about which supply the SPI interface is powered from.  But note please that the datasheet lists the min input voltage for a logic high at 1.4V on page 4, so it could be either supply.  Note also please that in the abs max table page 3 the max voltage on these pins is the AVDD + 0.3V so these pins are either powered off the AVDD supply or are at least tolerant of signals from a 3.3V supplied source.

    Regards,

    Richard P.
