TVP5154a minimum input voltage for video lost

Hi,

What is the minimum input voltage that will trigger the video signal lost?

Thanks.

  • This is not a simple question to answer since the decoder will try everything it can in order to maintain video lock. this includes adjusting the analog and digital gains and slice levels.

What exactly is the issue you are trying to detect?

  • We want to know what is the minimum video input allow before these alarm trigger.  We are investigating an issue at customer site that have frames lost sometimes are not delivered over 10sec.  Can you tell at least what is the range of input voltage p-p before i see these kind of lost signal?

    Thanks.

  • Unfortunately there is a lot more the the equation than simply the voltage level. Noise plays a bigger part.

It is not unusual for lock to be retained for signal levels down to around 8% and as high as 250%. This means the sync level could be down to 25mV.

As I say though, the level itself is most likely not as critical as the noise.

To maintain lock the syncs are all that really matter.
