ADS1220 With Two Strain Gage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1220

Hello,

I was wondering if there were any example circuits or 'typical application' diagrams showing two wheatstone bridge circuits being used with the ADS1220?  I wish to use two quarter bridge strain gage circuits measured differentially with this A/D.  I would like to use the internal reference if possible, not sure how it would be connected in ratiometric configuration with two bridges.

Thank you!

  • Hi Kevin,

If you use the AVDD supply as the same supply for exciting the bridge (ratiometric), then you can set the reference mux to use AVDD as the reference.  This will then free up the analog inputs.  Connect one bridge output to AIN0/AIN1 and the other bridge output to AIN2/AIN3.

    Best regards,

    Bob B
