ADS1118EVM: Data rate evaluation

Hi,

How I'm supposed to evaluate different rates with ADS1118EVM?

1) No matter what data rate I choose in 'Block Diagram' tab (8 SPS - 860SPS), the graph in 'Monitoring' tab refreshes always 2 times per second

2) There's no way to export data (to examine further in excel for example)

    Ari,

    The ADS1118EVM is limited in what it can do with the software given. The software is oriented more toward a demo for an application, than a demonstration for performance.


    However, the ADS1115 is similar to the ADS1118 in function and performance, with a different interface. If you're interested in evaluating the performance, the ADS1115 is integrated into ADCPro, with which you could change data rates, store data, run FFTs, etc. I would use that as a substitute.

    Joseph,

    You are right, ADS1118EVM has limited capabilities. Naming it 'demo kit' instead of 'evaluation module' would differentiate it from real evaluation modules and would have saved some time and money from me (I should have read better the user guide). Anyway, I ordered ADS1115EVM-PDK already.
