DAC5311-Q1 / operating temparature range

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC5311-Q1, DAC5311

Hi Team,

The datasheet shows operating temparature range of DAC5311-Q1 is -40~85℃.
On the other hand, DAC5311(not automotive grade) is -40~125℃.
I believe -Q1 device(automotive grade) has more extended temparature range than catalog device(not automotive grade).
Is my understanding uncorrect?

Best Regards,
Yaita

  • However some Figures in DAC5311-Q1 datasheet (Figure2,4,6,,etc) shows up to Ta=125℃, can't this device support Ta=125℃?

    Yaita

  • Hi Yaita,
Our automotive expert responsible for this device is still out on vacation. I am trying to gather some information for you from other colleagues.
    Thank you for your patience.
  • Eugenio-san,

  • Yaita-san,

Thank you very much for your patience with the US holidays.

I was able to talk to our automotive expert about this.

It is true that most automotive qualified devices have an extended temperature range, but it is only really necessary if the device is going to be close to the engine. When we qualified this device for the automotive space, there was no need for this device to be qualified for an extended temperature range since it was intended to be used in the interior console of the vehicle.

The DAC5311-Q1 datasheet shows typical plots that go to the 125°C range, the device will work above 85°C, but the automotive performance is not guaranteed.

If you can share more details about your application I can help you with any other concerns that you may have.

  • Eugenio-san,

I appreciate for your support. I understood.
I will have a talk with my customer and contact you again if I have any question.

    Best Regards,
    Yaita
