DAC161P997 simplex mode optocoupler interface

I would like to use DAC161P997 in the simplex mode with optoisolator. In the datasheet for simplex mode is mentioned only transformer case (fig.30 of the DAC161P997 datasheet)

Is the any drawback if I use only optocoupler at the DIN pin input?
