DAC7678 I2C Waveform question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC7678

Hi,

I left the LDACn and CLRn and sent

a 90 as the first byte to the DAC.   Then  After the Acknowledge time period my I2C controller that I have been designing stopped continuing because

the I2C clock stopped toggling.  I am wondering if my controller design just broke or if maybe I did not do the LDACn and DACn signals correctly and

the DAC pulled the clock line low.  Tommorow I will be rediesigning my controller to be simpler. and see if I can see if the controller may have pulled the

clock line down.

Thanks for any response.

  • Hi Gary,

The DAC7678 does not have the ability to pull the CLK line LOW. But as a sanity check, I would recommend testing the digital outputs of the controller without connecting it to the DAC.

If you are able to get the CLK working again, and you are still having problems it would be useful if you can share an oscilloscope capture of the digital lines.
