Power supply dac7563

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC7563

Hi,

I need to use the dac7563 in an HW platform with I/O of 3.3Volts.

I need an output on the dac7563 of 0 to 5Volts, I am going to use an external Vref (5 Volts) because in the initialization HW I need a midscale output of 2.5Volts.

1º.- Then AVDD has to be 5 Volts. Is it correct?

2º.- and then I am going to need a level shifter for the SPI signals due to the fact my HW platform is 3.3Volts and the dac7563 is feed to 5Volts. Is it correct?

Thank you so much. Best Regards.

  • Howdy Oscar,

You are correct in your questions.

    (1) As you may have noticed, the digital input and output pins and even reference have a maximum absolute rating of (AVDD+0.3). Violating these specs will damage the device. To adhere to these guidelines AVDD must be set to 5V for a 5V output.

    (2) VIH has a minimum value of 0.7*AVDD, which is 3.5V. To reach this level you will have to include a level shifter in your hardware design.

    Best Regards,
    Matt
