When I install the software for the DAC5688 EVM, the USB drivers do not get installed. There is a DAC5688 drivers directory that gets installed, but Windows Device Manager shows the device as having no driver. Even trying to install the driver manually doesn't work. Is there an updated driver for Windows 7?

Hi Tim,

I have attached a ppt which gives step by step description how to solve this issue. The ppt is for DAC5682 but I think same process should work for DAC5688.

If I followed the procedure with the exact version of the USB Serial Converter as shown in the PPT, Device Manager reports a "Could not start" error Code 10. If I chose a newer version of the USB Serial Converter, my computer fails with a blue screen. Now, I can't even disable the device, because whenever I plug in the USB, I get the blue screen.

Attached are instruction to for removing and re-installing FTDI drivers. Please follow these instruction and hopefully this will resolve your issue.

I still get the blue screen when I plug in the DAC5688 USB. The procedure above did reinstall drivers for the TSW1400, but when I plug in the DAC board, I get the blue screen. Step 3 in the uninstall/reinstall procedure wasn't quite as described. After the dialog box of Figure 7, I don't see figures 8, 9 or 10. It just seems to be done.
