ads1602 bandwith

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1602, ADS5560, ADS5562, ADS1605

Hi.

I want convert a signal with 1000hz  frequency and rise time 100ns .

can i convert this signal with ads1602?

thanks

  • Hello Reza -
The ADC can converter the signal, however that may depend on the specifications that you need.
The bandwidth of the ADS1602 in high-speed mode is 1.23MHz (from datasheet). With ADCs, the maximum frequency that you can reliably sample is 1/2 the sampling frequency (Nyquist theorem). So you base frequency of 1kHz is well within this band. The 100ns requirement is potentially the bigger issue.
Do need to preserve the edge (100 ns)?? To preserve this edge, you are looking at bandwidth of up to 10MHz, which will most likely require a high-speed ADC. Let us know more about the requirements and we might be able to offer better solutions.
In the meantime, you could look at ADS1605 (5 MSPS) or ADS5560/ADS5562 for potential other options.
  • HI
that signal i want convert rise in 100ns and exponential fall in 30us.
i want convert this signal 1us after rise to fall about zero.i need every 1us get one digit.(if i can send picture from signal you can give better advive)
    sincerely
