Windows 10: Installation of USBStyx fails, libusb0.dll missing

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1298R

Hello, this is my first post, please excuse if I missed anything:

I'm trying to use both the ADS1298RECG-FE-PDK and the  ADS1298ECG-FE-PDK on a Windows 10 box.

Unfortunately, the installation of ads129xecg-fe-setup-1.1.1.exe throws an error somewhere inbetween:

In English, it would say: "Problem when starting libusb0.dll. Module can't be found".

Is this known? Is there a workaround? Or can I use the boards only with older Windows systems?

And a second, non-related question: is there a way to use the boards with alternative programming languages such as Python? I'd be very much interested in a command reference!

Thanks a lot in advance,

DAniel

  • Hey Daniel,

This EVM software is only supported on Win7/XP so there is no expectation of functionality with Win10. That being said, some e2e community members have gotten it to work (e2e.ti.com/.../448048).

As to your question regarding Python or other scripting, there is no support. This board and software are to be used as an evaluation kit for the ADS1298R as a standalone IC so there is no support for its use as a development kit or as part of an end equipment.
