Need Clarification on ADC -- ADS8519

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8519

Hello !

I am using the ADS-8519 ADC Part of Texas Instruments, I need a clarification regaring this part Please find in below :

Question 1:
The digital supply for ADC is connected to +3.3V and SPI communication lines of +3.3V logic level signals are connected to FPGA (+3.3V device). Please confirm whether ADS8519 can support +3.3V digital supply or not?

Question 2:
I have given the analog supply voltage of +5AVDD to ADS8519. But, th board input analog signal range is single Ended Bi-Polar +10V to -10V (20Vp-p). In this condition, whether ADS8519 can support +5AVDD analog voltage or not?

Regards,

Sakthi.A

  • Hi Sakthi,

The ADS8519 digital voltage supply (VDIG) can operate in the range of 1.65V to 5.25V; therefore it can support +3.3V digital supply.  The analog voltage supply (VANA) needs to be set to 5V.  Please notice the datasheet mentions that VDIG must not exceed VANA (VDIG≤VANA).  Please refer to Power Supplies section on p4 on the datasheet.

The device supports single-ended ±10V input range with VANA=5V when configured as shown on Table 2 and Figure 30.  The voltage is scaled using internal resistors.

    Thank you and Best Regards,

    Luis
