Hi,

I was just wondering what is the maximum output voltage of the DAC7625, a former burr-brown device.

The datasheet says the output voltage can't be higher than REFH, whereas REFH has a maximum of 2.5V. Thus I would say 2.5V is the maximum.

BUT, according to the TI product page the output voltage range is -10..+10V.

Is it possible to drive the DAC with an output voltage of +10V???

Hi Michael,

The data sheet is correct - that is your guiding document. The DAC7625 can not support +/-10V output ranges. Thank you for pointing this out! I'll have the web folks fix the product landing page.

Hi,

sry one more question. Is there anything pin compatible to the DAC7625, in the same DIP package with a higher output voltage range (+/-10V)?

Hi Michael,

Nothing that I can find - at least not in the DIP package. If you can deal with an SMT device or PLCC, there are options.

Hi Tom,

well, I guess I have to go with another package and make a little adapter board, rather then changing the entire existing board.

Looks like the DAC7725, which available in both SMT and PLCC, should be able to handle the +/-10Volts. Or what would you recommend?
