I chose the DAC5687 because of its fast settling time. Using TI's parametric selector, it looked like just what I was interested in.
My intention was to feed it parallel data and have that data converted to an analogue voltage at its output ... quickly.
All of the other fancy bells and whistles aside, parallel data in ... analog voltage out.
Linearly increasing data in ... linearly increasing voltage out. Logarithmically increasing digital data in ... logarithmically increasing voltage out.
I have spent some time attempting to do just this, but must be totally missing something --or-- this device will not do this.
