TLV431B with low Vka

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV431B

Hello everyone,

I have the following configuration:

M1 is an depletion-mode nmos Transistor with -2.4V Vgs(th). I want to regulate the voltage at the load to 3V.

By simulating the circuit, it can be seen (and it is Logical), that at cathode of the TLV431B only a voltage of 0,7V is applied! TLV431B must have 1,24V over Vka at least, according to the datasheet! BUT in the Simulation it works with 0,7V. Will that work in reality, too?

Will that work in reality?

Thank you for your help!
