I am using the LMP90079 specifically, but this question applies to the whole series.
On page 5 of the datasheet, it says "Leave the thermal pad floating". However, the reference design on page 60 shows the thermal pad connected to ground. Which is correct?
What is the internal connection of the thermal pad?
What determines the need for the thermal pad connection? For example, if I am not using any of the current sources, do I even need the thermal pad connection?
