DAC8830 0.1Hz to 10Hz noise

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8830

Hi,

Please tell me the noise of DAC8830.
DAC Output noise (Ta=25℃, 0.1Hz to 10Hz).

※Instead 10nV / rHz written in the data sheet,
0.1Hz to 10Hz is the noise.

Best regards

  • Hi cafain,

My apologies, I don't think I understand your question. Could you please clarify?

The datasheet lists the DAC output spectral noise density as 10 nV/√Hz. This is taken at 1 kHz.

If you are interested in the noise amplitude at 0.1 to 10 Hz I can ask our characterization team to see if we have this data.

  • Hi, Thank you for your support.

Description is sorry not in shortage.

"Noise amplitude at 0.1 to 10 Hz" Would you please provide this data.

    Best regards

  • Hi cafain,

I had a discussion with the design team. Since this DAC is unbuffered, there is no component that would cause a 1/f noise which is usually what cause the increase in noise near DC.

This means that you can use use the 1 kHz spectral noise to calculate the noise near DC, but it will be negligible since in the system the reference and the buffer amplifier that you select will have the larger noise injection into the system.

    In short, you can consider the REF_noise + OPA_noise = REF_noise + OPA_noise + DAC_noise from 0.1 to 10 Hz.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if something is not clear.
