ADS1281

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1281

Dear Sirs,

on the ads1281, as far as I have understood, data rate is directly proportional to the clock input, which ranges from 1 to 4.096Mhz.

So, if I apply 1.024Mhz do I get lower data rates ranging from 62.5Hz to 1000 Khz?

Is it a correct assumption? Does this improper setting afflict the converter performances ?

Best Regards,

Paolo

  • Hi Paolo,

That is correct. The data rates specified in the ADS1281 datasheet assume a clock of 4.096 MHz; therefore with the 1.024 MHz clock, 250 SPS becomes 62.5 Hz (250 * 1.024MHz / 4.096 MHz).

A clock frequency of 1.024 MHz is a valid clock frequency for the ADS1281 and it shouldn't degrade the performance of the ADC.

    Best Regards,
    Chris
