Hello E2E,

I was looking through the DAC900TPWRQ1 data sheet on the website and maybe I'm missing it but I can't seem to find information on how much time should be given to the part after coming out of Power Down in order to be ready for operation. I don't want to assume it's instant but if you could inquire or let me know a rough time of how long we should wait to use the part after coming out of Power Down that would be greatly appreciated.

One other question on that DAC: The DAC has a PD that puts it in lower power consumption. From what I can see, VA is "shut off" going from 30mA to 2mA. Now my question is if we actually leave PD Low (The DAC is active) but take away the clock, would we see the same power savings?

When the clock is removed, the digital DVDD supply drops from 0.147A to 0.130A. The analog supply, VA+, does not change.

This is an old part that was done by Burr Brown many years ago. The original designers are no longer with TI and I am sorry to say we do not have answer for question 1.

Is it possible to set up a test for this in order to give some sort of timing requirement? If not, is there is a drop in replacement or worst case, a total replacement for the parallel DAC, that actually specifies the "wake-up" time in the data sheet?

I will attempt to measure this. The THS5651A is a drop in replacement but only has a max sample rate of 100MHz. Per the data sheet, it awakes ~ 3ms after coming out of sleep mode.

I measured the coming out of sleep mode and it appears to be around 170uS. See attached photo.
