AMC7832: Power supply requirement for AMC7832 AVDD and AVCC

Part Number: AMC7832

Hi,

Please help confirm if it is a must to use seperate LDO for AMC7832 AVDD and AVCC. Is it ok to use digital part power supply to power AVDD and AVCC with some filter caps and FB in middle? What is spec requirement for AMC7832 AVDD and AVCC? Thanks!

regards

david

  • David,

You can use the same supply for AVDD and AVCC assuming that the supply complies to the max voltage requires of AVDD (5.5V).  This would mean that DAC channels would be limited to 5V or -10V ranges.  Also note that AVCC is the analog supply for the DAC channels so any loads on the DAC channels would need to be supplied from the same LDO, so it must be ensured that the current drive capability of the LDO is sufficient for the application.

Please let me know if you have any more questions,

  • Hi Paul

    Thanks for reply!

Now customer tends to use one 5.2V converter for AVDD, AVCC and DVDD. Also this converter powers other devices(high freq device,  attenuator). Is it ok?

    Regards

    David

  • David,

I do not believe it should be an issue, assuming the supply can support all the devices.  If high-frequency noise is a concern, then the FB and decoupling caps is a good idea.
