ADS7223: Conversion result read issue

Part Number: ADS7223

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am using ADS7223 ADC in differential mode with combined RD and CONVST signal.

I am using Mode-2 to control channel selection manually.  The read conversion result is changing with multiple reads for the same input volatge.

Please find the attached timing diagram and let me know if any issue is there with timing.

Regards,

B Sandeep.

  • Hi Sandeep,

The ADC will have some inherent noise. Additionally there would be some noise from the reference, signal chain and the source. All these noise sources together would cause a range of codes to be seen at the output of the ADC.

In this ADC, you can expect output codes to have a range of +-3 codes around the mean (this too depends on the system noise).
Are you seeing a variation in your output codes to this extent?

If the variation is much greater than +-3LSBs, you could check if the input DC signal and the ADC reference voltage stable.
