DAC7760: Connect to Launchxl-F28377S

Part Number: DAC7760
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS5560, TIPD119, DAC8760, LMT87

I'm preparing the analog out test based on Slau519 and try to use existed Launchxl-F28377S but its most of pins have been occupied. Do you have experiences to handle this issue?

I'll select ADS5560 as the ADC.

  • Jingtai,

I'm not sure I totally understand what the question is.

SLAU519 is the document explaining TIPD119. We used something called the "SM-USB-DIG" to control the board in that TI Design, but the SM-USB-DIG is not sold on it's own, it is only sold as part of some of our EVMs.

DAC8760 and ADS5560 are each SPI interfaced data-converters. If you were to minimize the number of connections required you could get away with shared SPI clock and data lines between the two parts and unique chip-select lines for each device for a total of 5 connections.
  • Hi! Kevin,
Thanks for your support. I'll check TIPD119. Another issue: DAC8760 reuires a SPI, ADS5560 requires a SPI for programming, ADS5560 also requires CMOS parralel output or DDR LVDS output, refer to ADS5560 datasheet, how are GPIOs on Launchxl-F28377S distributed according these requirements? There is a temperture sensor LMT87 that will connect to ADC IN on Launchxl connectors. Other ADC INs, DACs, PWMs on chip are not required.
  • Jingtai,

As much as I wish I knew everything - I'm not familiar with the Launchxl-F28377S. I would suggest that you post questions concerning this on the C2000 MCU forum.
