ADS1118EVM: EMS test of ADS1118

I would like to confirm the infuluence of EMS to ADS1118.

The customer tested EMS(imunity) with ADS1118EVM.

In the case of 370MHz, the result of the temperature had the drift higer temperature.

In this case, what is the cause of the drift?

And are there any solutions for avoiding this drift?

    I'm not aware of any electromagnetic compatibility/susceptibility problems or testing that have been done on the ADS1118 or the ADS1118EVM. Assuming that they have run some sort of test and had problems at 370MHz, what problems have they seen? Are they seeing a higher value in the internal temp sensor? Could you please follow up with details of the test and results?

    Hi Yamauchi-san,

    The ADS1118EVM was not designed nor tested for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).  The IEC test you described is outside of the scope of the design for the ADS1118EVM.  There is a large antenna created by the thermocouple cable which is placed in a very large RF field.  This RFI can directly couple into the ADS1118.  Why it appears specifically at 370MHz is most likely related to inductance of filter components and PCB vias in the signal path.

    Most likely additional protection against EMI/RFI will be required for some applications.  This may include shielded cabling, ferrites, TVS diodes, etc., to properly eliminate the RFI from entering the device.  This will require a design and PCB layout specific to the intended application.
