ADS5282: Commercial use of ADS5282EVM

Hello,

I am using ADS5282EVM in order to acquire data from a prototype system used in Nuclear Medicine.

I would like to ask which is the procedure to use the ADS5282EVM as a part of a commercial product?

    Lefteris,

    The EVMs are not designed to be commercial products. They are intended for evaluation purposes only. You can use the EVM schematic, and layout as a building block for your system, but the EVM itself was not designed to be part of a commercially released product.

    Hi Steve,

    You mean that in terms of its thermical and electrical characteristics that TI don't take any responsibility if it will not work correctly...

    But in terms of IP rights its ok if we take the responsibility for the rest. As we have not signed any end user and end use statement. Am I right?

    Perhaps I am misunderstanding your question. if you intend to use an EVM in a commercial product, that would break the terms and conditions of the EVM. Please see the manual that came with your EVM.

    "EVMs are intended solely for product or software developers for use in a research and development setting to facilitate feasibility evaluation, experimentation, or scientific analysis of TI semiconductor products. EVM have no direct function and are not finished products. EVMs shall not be directly or indirectly assembled as a part or subassembly in a finished product."

    The part is also not approved for use in Medical systems. If you are interested in a ADC for medical applications, I would be happy to connect you to our medical team to see if there is a similar device that could be used, however again, The EVM terms and conditions do not permit the use of any EVM in a commercial product.
