Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS52J90
Hello everybody,
I am going to develop a DAQ system with the following specs:
1) Sampling Frequency: >50 MSPS
2) # of Channels: >=16
3) Take 500 samples (with 50MHz) every 1/30 of a second
4) Data acquisition for 1 minute
I have a couple of general questions:
1) I have not been able to find an explanation for the High-Resolution Burst Mode (HRBM). How does it work? Is it a fit for the task I just described?
2) Does any of the data capture boards (e.g. TSW140X, TSW14j56, etc) support HRBM right now? (I checked their User's Guide, no luck)
3) Does the HSDCPro GUI support HRBM for any of the ADC boards? (I checked the User's Guide, no luck)
4) I am assuming that in order to implement the task I described, there are two ways to go: (1) choose a 16 channel ADC like ADS52J90 without HRBM and take care of the "burst mode" thing using an FPGA board, or (2) use an ADC with HRBM support. Is my assumption correct? If yes, which path do you think requires the least engineering time?
Thank you all,
Hossein
