Wang,

The EVM source code (Firmware and host software) contains a great deal of overhead for other evaluation modules. It is not a useful example that would help a customer develop code. The best way to develop code for this and other data converters is to look for SPI examples in the microcontroller that you plan to use.

The MSP430 team should have code examples for SPI communications. This would be a good starting point for a software example.
