Hi,

I am not getting the spice model for ADS800, Can anyone help me to get the spice model for ADS800. Second issue is, ADS800 Datasheet talks about two modes

1) Differential Mode: Input Range is 1.25V to 3.25V

2) Single ended Mode: Input Range 0.25V to 4.25V

My application is to detect the 2MHz pulse signal of 20mV peak minimum. Is ADS800 is the correct device for my application? What will be Digital output if i give input of 0V and 20mV, will both digital outputs will be same.

Hi Ajay

Is your 20mV signal ground referenced (ie. 0V to +20mV) or is there some DC offset above ground?

Can the detection ADC be AC-coupled to the input signal, or do you need the DC (low frequency) information about the signal?

What is the drive (output impedance) capability of the 20mV signal source?

20mV signal is with respect to ground, there is no DC offset. It can be AC coupled as there is no DC component in the signal. As of now we are planning to use OPA355 OP-AMP to driver the signal at the input of ADC. Actual scheme is below

ADL5011(RF detector-Analog Devices) -----OPA355(OP-AMP- TI--removes the DC offset and with unity gain) ------- ADS800 (ADC- TI)

Kindly do suggest, if we need to use differential mode or single mode. As precision is very important for this application. If you can suggest the ADS800 differntial mode driver scheme for the ADC, it would be very nice.

Hi Ajay
This type of ADC generally has better performance and noise immunity if driven with a differential signal.
Something like the LMH6550 would probably be OK for conversion of SE to differential for that frequency of signal.
