ADS5474EVM: ADC to Xilinx VC707

Part Number: ADS5474EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: FMC-ADC-ADAPTER,

My application is to use the ADS5474EVM and TI FMC-ADC-ADAPTER board to connect to the Xilinx VC707 FPGA development board.

1. Is this adapter board designed to be directly used with the VC707?

2. Has anyone successfully used this configuration?

3. Does TI, Xilinx, or anyone else have VHDL code for the FPGA pin configuration?

4. Does anyone have any generic starter VHDL project code for this configuration that I could use to kick-start my project?

Thanks.

  • Greg,

    We are looking into this.

  • Hi Jim,

Do you have a response for my questions yet?  Thanks.

  • Greg,

All of the data lines and clocks will have the polarity swapped if using the adapter board. If you can un-swap these with the Xilinx FPGA, the adapter should work. There are a few signals on the FPGA side that will be forced to GND, but these appear to all be data lines that can be assigned as inputs or tri-stated. Unfortunately, we do not have any example Xilinx code as most of our tools are Altera based. You can find some VHDL/Verilog code under the TSW1400EVM product folder on the TI website. This is the platform we sell that allows user's to capture data from the ADS5474EVM.

    Jim
