DAC128S085: IF DAC DOUT signal is tri-state, can this parts be used on SPI bus with other SPI devices

Part Number: DAC128S085

IF DAC DOUT signal is tri-state, can this parts be used on SPI bus with other SPI devices or does it need try-stated buffer on DOUT signal

Thank you,

  • Yury,

Based on the comment on page 17 of the datasheet in the second to last paragraph, I believe the DOUT is idle low when SYNC is high, however I would agree that the datasheet does not indicate whether it is driven low or high-z.

We will need to dig into this a bit deeper and get back to you.

We will strive to get you an update by the end of the week.

  • Hi Yury,

Thank you for reching out. We are very sorry for not being very specific in the datasheet regarding the DOUT state. I measured it physically and saw that the DOUT is pulled down to ground with a 1k Ohm internal resistor. So, it's not an ideal high-z condition. But you can design your circuit keeping this resistance value in mind.
