ADS8365: Is there any method to change sampling rate of ADS8365 by hardware?

Part Number: ADS8365

Dear Sir,

I read the datasheet of ADS8365 and find out it only provides 250k and 100k sampling rate. Is there any method to change the sampling rate, say 2k, by hardware?

  • Hello user4250956,

ADS8365's maximum sampling rate is 250ksps, the three hold signals(/HOLDA,/HOLDB and /HOLDC) initiate the conversion on the specific channels, a simultaneous hold on all six channels can occur with all three hold signals tied together. After conversion TIME shown as below, THE ADC will enter acquisition time, both conversion and acquisition form a whole sampling cycle, this cycle can be repeated continuously, so use /HOLDX pin to achieve the sampling rate you want. Thanks.

    Best regards

    Dale

  • Dear Sir,

Thank you so much for your response. It helps a lot.

However, I only has experience to use jumpers to tune the sampling rate. So, I am not familiar the way to use hardware setting the  HOLDX pin.

Can you tell me the way to do that? Thank you very much.

  • Hi user425956,

What do you mean by 'only experience to use jumpers to tune sample rate'? You can use a timer on the CPU to interface with the HOLDx functions to achieve whatever sample rate you like.
