ADC32RF44EVM: Question about number of ADC in the EVM board

Part Number: ADC32RF44EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC32RF44

Hi,

Do you know how many ADCs for the ADC chip on this board? I have seen in the datasheet of ADC32RF44, which consists of 4 ADCs.

However, on the EVM board there are 2 differential ports for CHA and 2 differential ports for CHB.

Can I use this board to digitize 4 seperate channels instead?

Long

  • Long,

The EVM contains one ADC device which has two channels. Each channel consists of 4 ADC's that have the outputs interleaved to create one ADC output. The device in theory contains 8 total ADC's but you cannot separate these as individual ADC's. For the user, this is a dual ADC device.

Each channel has two ports to allow you to bypass the input transformers and provide true differential input signals to each channel.

  • Hi,
Last question, the ADC32RF4x is compatible to FPGA ML605, isn't it?
    Thank you.
  • Long,

I am not familar with the ML605. This board will need an FMC connector, high speed serdes transceivers, and a JESD204B IP for it to work with the ADC EVM. Consult a Xilinx rep for more info regarding this.
