DAC128S085: SPI connection

Part Number: DAC128S085
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS7044,

Hi all.

In my project, I'm thinking to use DAC128S085 and ADS7044. I'd like to connect the two devices with the microprocessor by the same SPI line (the microprocessor is the MASTER and the devices are the SLAVES): is it possible? My doubt is because the DAC128S085 has SYNC pin and not the CS pin as the ADS7044.

Thank you.

Nicola

  • Hi Nicola,

Thanks for your query. In order to connect multiple slave devices to the same SPI bus, you need to use separate CS lines. For the DAC, SYNC is same as CS, except that it is edge triggered. Please look at the timing diagram for details.

    Hope this answers your question.
