DAC5652A: When in Power-down mode

Hello,

Our customer use the DAC5652A, have a question.

When the DAC5652A is in power-down mode, does it accept the clock and data? or ignore them?

The customer want to output zero at power up. So, they put the DAC5652A in power-down mode immediately and

write zero data. After that they start it normal operation.

Do you have any idea to output zero at power up (before write data)?

Hi Naoki,

There is 100kohms(internal) pull down resistor on all the data lines. So when the device is first turned and with just clock running and no data is applied the DAC should output zeros unit to provide data on CMOS data lines.

What does it mean "when the device is first turned"?
Is it after sleep mode off (normal operation)?
If it is after sleep mode, is there any output current until
the customer set zero data?

Hi Naoki,

When no data is sent to the device because of the pull down resistor on all in data input pins the DAC should output zero signal. When the device first turned on I mean device is on but no data is send to the DAC. it could be after sleep or normal operation even if there is no data and the DAC is clocked the DAC will still output "ZERO"

I think there will be a delay of four clock.
Is the output uncertain during that four clock?

During the Four clock cycle the DAC will output "ZERO".

Hi Neeraj,

I see there is no delay.

I will feedback the customer as follows,
Power on with SLEEP High.
Clock start.
SLEEP Low.
Then the device start with output zero.

It seems to be able to write data when the device is in SLEEP mode, right?

Hi Naoki,

You can't write data to the device when it is in sleep mode. But with data applied to the device it will only output ZERO.
