ADC082S101: SPI Interface effective data rate

Hi there,

I'm looking at the ADC082S101 SPI interface and it's showing a 1MSPS sampling rate. Can I get that if I'm using both ADCs? It would mean doing back to back transfers between ADCs (so starting the second ADC Control register write while receiving data from the first ADC). Does the part support this? Can I run the SPI interface continuously and ping/pong the ADCs?

Hi Shawn

ADC082S101 has front end multiplexer. So if you are using both the channels then effective sampling rate per channel is 500ksps.
What is get from your question is you need a simultaneous sampling of both the channels. If that is the case can you please look at some of the simultaneous sampling parts such as ADS7253.

If you need 1MSPS effective sampling rate per channel then you can also consider devices similar to ADS7949 which 2 channel 2MSPS device. You can get sampling speed of 1MSPS/CH by using this device.
