ADC34J44: Is it possible to operate the device at lesser than 125MSPS

I am interested in the ADC34J44EVM and/or ADC32J44EVM and was wondering if there is a way to operate the quad channel ADC at a rate lesser than 125MSPS and how. I already have a TSW14J56 with me.

I installed the GUI for the above EVMs and I was only able to see config1.cfg and config2.cfg files in the relevant directory and was not able to find any other cfg files mentioned in the user's guide

Also is this the same way to achieve smaller rates for the ADS54J64 EVM as well. This EVM gives me an option to sample at a higher rate if needed and not max out at 125MSPS.

Hi Aravind,

Yes, the ADS54J64EVM can be configured in a similar manner; However, there are additional steps which must be taken. Please see section 3.3 of the ADS54J64EVM user's guide.

So if I want to sample four channels using the ADS54J64EVM at 100MSPS, I can do that by using an external clock at 200MHz ( and this is not possible using the onboard clock) and following steps similar to what you have mentioned in the previous power point file, correct?

I assume I will need another config file for this operation as well. How does one generate this config file? It would be difficult to ask in the forum every time we will change sampling rate.

Hi Aravind,

Yes, and a configuration file already exists for the ADS54J64EVM to do this. This configuration file does not need to be changed when the frequency changes. Please follow section 3.3 in the User's Guide for hardware configuration.
