1:Hello, may I ask why Tconv in ADS8866 specification book is 500ns~ 8800ns time difference so big?And ADS8864 specification book Tconv can achieve 500ns to 1300 ns time difference is small.

2:Is there any difference between ADS8866 and ADS8864 in technology or design?Thank you very much!

    Thank you for your question.

    The conversion time is controlled by the internal oscillator in both ADS8866 and ADS8864.

    The ADS8866 is the lower speed version, which allows a wider tolerance on the conversion clock. Total time is the sum of maximum conversion and minimum acquisition time. For the ADS8866, this is 8800nS + 1200nS = 10000nS (10uS), or 100ksps maximum sample rate. Data sheet specifications are only guaranteed and tested for speeds up to 100ksps.

    The ADS8864 is the higher speed version, and uses a tighter tolerance internal clock to reduce the maximum conversion time. For ADS8864, total time is 1300nS + 1200nS = 2500nS, or 400ksps maximum sample rate.
