Hi,all

     1. Is there any software reference code for FDC1004 and FDC2112 ? Please send them to me.

     2. I want to use FDC1004 or FDC2112 to detect the moisture of skin, like below block diagram.

        My question: Is there any mature method, how to filter out the impact from the capacitance of the human body ? Because I want to get the capacitance of moisture.

    Hi Went,

    First, we have sample code for both the FDC1004 and FDC2112. You can find sample code for the FDC1004 here, and sample code for the FDC2112 is included in the Sensing Solutions GUI. 

    Second, I think it would be very challenging to use capacitive sensing for this application. The capacitance measurement will change significantly between different individuals, so it would be very challenging to filter out the impact of the human body on the capacitive measurement. You may want to look into humidity sensors instead. We have example applications for liquid level sensing, but not for this specific application.

    Hi Kristin,

    thanks for your reply, which indicator inside the IC would change as the external environment capacitance changing? like the frequency? the Q charging time?...

    And for this application, my customer need to measure the humidity for the skin, instead of the air near the skin, so maybe our HDC part is not suitable for this scenario.

    Hi Leo,

    The FDC1004 uses a switched-capacitor architecture and the FDC2214 uses a resonance-based architecture. For more information about how these two architectures work, please see this blog post.
