ADS7041: Multiple Use Case

Part Number: ADS7041

Hi,

Is my understanding correct that each ADS7041 can be accessed by controlling /CS if the multiple ADS7041s and other devices are used with same SPI bus interface as below ?

Best regards,
Kato

  • Kato-san,

Yes, you definitely can connect multiple devices on the same SPI bus, with each driven by an individual /CS.

You will need to consider the fanout of each signal. The masteris likely to have sufficient strength to drive the shared SCLK and SDI signals. But the SPI slave devices will probably require a buffer on their SDO outputs, as each slave sees the load of the host and all other slaves.

Also, while deciding the timing of the /CS signals, care should be taken to adhere to the tDZ_CSDO and tD_CSDO timings of the slave devices.

    Best Regards,

    Sandeep

  • Hi Sandeep-san,

    Thank you for the information.

    I understood.
