ADS8332: ADS8332 LSB( 0-3bit ) is always 0x03

Part Number: ADS8332

LSB( 0- 3bit) of conversion result of IN4 is always 0x03.( Result is 0x8b83 or 0x8bc3 )

INPUT = 1.65V (D.C.)  REF = 3V  AVdd = 3.1V  DVDD = 3V

Manual trigger mode

Channel select is used

Even if IN4 and IN3 are replaced , it will be the  same result.

SPI Lne of ADS8332  are monitored by Oscilloscope.

0x8b83 or 0x8bc3 is output certainly.

I think that ohter results are also obtained .( etc 0x8b84,0x8b85...)

Is thie result is right?

Best regards

  • Hello,

Usually, with an error like this, I would ask to look at the digital timing with a scope shot; but just recently there was a previous post with a very similar issue, it seemed that the bypass capacitors used were not the recommended size and were causing errors in the readings. If you would please double check your hardware circuit for completeness.

If this does not fix the issue, lets start debugging by looking into the digital communications timing.

    Regards

    Cynthia

  • Hello Cynthia,

This problem was resolved thanks to your support.

It was lack of the capacity of the reference supply.

    Thank you,

    Best Regards,
