ADS7881: Driving ADS7881 by high-speed optocouplers

Hi,

Since isolation of 2500Vrms is needed between the digital module and the analog module , we use high-speed optocouplers - ACSL-6400.

The optocoupler drive the A/D Digital inputs and the optocoupler "Output Rise Time" is 35ns

Is it OK to drives the A/D Digital inputs so slow?

Hi Rozi,

So long as you meet the minimum setup and hold requirements of the ADS7881, you should not have any issues with the switching speeds you mentioned. Have you looked over the ISO7240 series of digital couplers? They have faster rise and fall times and could save you quite of bit of power.
