ADS1015-Q1: ADS1015-Q1

Part Number: ADS1015-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1015

Hello TI

We are using ADS1015-Q1 in our ZF TRW Automotive ADAS application products (Camera), now we are looking for the equivalent alternative but smaller size device. Looking for smaller size than 10VSSOP: 15 mm2: 4.9 x 3.

Could you please help me to find small size Automotive ADC?

Regards

Sundar

  • Sundar,

Is an automotive grade device required for the new application? If not, the original ADS1015 already comes in a 1.5mm x 2mm X2QFN package.

  • Joseph,

Yes, we need Automotive grade only.
BTW, what are differences between ADS1105-Q1 and ADS1015, let us know differences in electrical specification point of view which are not specified in both datasheets.

  • Sundar,

Looking through the Electrical Characteristics Table, it looks like the ADS1015 and the ADS1015-Q1 is specified exactly the same. The only difference that I noticed is that the ESD Ratings are specified a little differently for the devices. Differences are shown below.

    For the ADS1015:

    For the ADS1015-Q1:

As for the automotive grade, smaller device, is I2C the preferred communication? Is a fully differential ADC required? Does the application require PGA gain? If you list some required specifications, we could give a recommendation.
