DAC8775: Schematic using only 2 channels

Part Number: DAC8775
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIPD215

Hi,

I'm working on a project where I want to use the DAC8775 for two analog outputs controlled through SPI interface. I have used TIPD215 as a reference design but I have a few questions.

1. What should I do with the pins of unused channels ? ( Channels  C and D)

2. Should I create two different grounds (for analog and digital) or is it not necessary?

3. What is the purpose of the switching diodes (BAV99) on the output of each channel?

4. If I'm not fitting the capacitor between CCOMP_x and output , should I leave the pin unconnected or connected to the output without capacitor?

I hope I have made no mistake in the schematic

Best regards,

  • Hi Ondrej,

I looked over your schematic and did not see any issues. Find my responses to your questions below.

    1. They should be left unconnected.

    2. It is not necessary two have two different grounds.

    3. These diodes clamp the output to VPOS and VNEG for transient protection purposes.

    4. CCOMP should be left unconnected if it is not tied to Vout.

    Thanks,
    Garrett
