ADS8598S: What is the tconv when oversampling in OS[2:0]111

Part Number: ADS8598S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8598H

Hi Sir,

As title, The datasheet doesn't show the spec ,but my customer is using ADI AD7608 before , he want to know the rough data and compete with AD7608. he want to know

1.Is the Tcon constant or non-constant ?

2.Does the oversampling turn on when OS [2:0] 111

  • Hello KJ,

    Welcome to E2E forum.

The conversion time(tCONV) on ADS8598S is related to OSR configuration, ADS8698S datasheet has specified this specification in 6.15 session(Switching Characteristics) on page 12.

OSR= 111 is an invalid configuration, and the OSR will not work, please refer to Table 1 on page 29.

The competitive Analysis is attached below for your reference, we also have 500ksps version ADS8598H. Please let me know if your customer has more question, thanks.

    Best regards

    Dale
