ADS4246: HSDC pro v5.00 controls TSW1400 and ADS4246evm?

We are planning to use the TSW1400EVM card to capture the ADC outputs  from an ADS4246EVM ADC evaluation board.

 

Do I understand correctly that the HSDC Pro v5.00 software controls both the capture card and the ADC?

    Hi Ajayt,

    HSDC Pro controls the capture card TSW1400, and there is a separate GUI that controls the ADS4246EVM . This GUI is available on the ADS4246EVM. For more information, please see the ADS42xxEVM user's guide.

    Also, added question:-

    Another question please. We will need to run multiple tests with the eval board and it would be very helpful to automate them. Is there any kind of api that we could use to control the eval software? The minimum we need to do is to set the destination for the capture file and then start and stop a continuous capture. Our preferred software for the automation is Python.

    Hi Ajayt,

    Yes, this should not be an issue. The HSDC Pro software is setup for automation, and can be controlled using MATLAB, LabVIEW and Python, and there are examples to get you started. Please see the HSDC Pro folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro 5.0\HSDCPro Automation DLL\Manual and Examples" for automation documentation and examples.
