DAC714: +/-10V Output Voltage Range

Part Number: DAC714
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Hi,

I was wondering if it would be possible to recommend a circuit, similar to the one shown in Fig. 6B of the datasheet (see reference image below), but for the -10V to 10V output voltage range?

Thanks!

Olly

  • Hi Olly,

The modification for this circuit is simple, just leave the parallel feedback resistor disconnected (RFB2, pin10).  This would make the total feedback resistance 10kohm instead of 5kohm.  I created a TINA-TI simulation to test this.  Note that the current-controlled current source and the voltage controlled current source is just to replicate the MDAC architecture of the DAC itself, which makes DC transfer function in TINA-TI easier.

Here is the simulation: DAC714 Bipolar Gain and Offset.TSC

    Thanks,

    Paul
