ADS124S06: ADS124S06 Reference Buffer

Part Number: ADS124S06

Dear Sir,

May I ask if Reference buffer is recommended to be enable at RTD ratiometric application?

Best regards,

Masa

  • Hi Masa-san,

this depends a little on the circuit implementation, but in general it is recommended to have the reference buffers enabled to reduce the input currents flowing into the reference inputs.

In case you place the reference resistor on the low-side (as shown in A Basic Guide to RTD Measurements, section 2.3 for example)  then you could disable the reference buffer on the negative reference input if you wanted to (or have it enabled). But you should enable the reference buffer on the positive reference input.

In case the reference resistor is place on the high side (as shown in the application section of the ADS124S06 datasheet) then both reference buffers should be enabled.

    Regards,

  • Joachim,
Thank you very much for your answer.
