As a student, I am looking for a RF signal capturing board. In this data capturing process, I will be capturing transient signals. I need to ask following questions for my study because I couldn't find the answers from datasheet.

1) Is this board (TSW54J60EVM) (or software) has thresholding or edge detection ability?

2) What is the type (.bin, .txt, .dat, etc.) of data that will be generated on the PC when I collect the signal with this board (TSW54J60EVM).

3) For a typical capturing process, is there any data size limits? (I mean can I capture 10MB, 1GB or 10GB of data with a single capturing process?)

4) Can I capture data with this board (TSW54J60 Evaluation Board (EVM)) only or should I use both this board and the board (TSW14J56EVM) mentioned in datasheet to do signal capturing?

    1. This board has two amplifiers feeding the ADC, which has two analog input channels. It was not designed for threshold or edge detection. You can maybe use the over range indicator which has threshold adjustment on the ADC for what you are trying to attempt. See the ADS54J60 data sheet for more information.

    2. The data captured from the TSW14J56EVM, which connects to the TSW54J60EVM, can be either .csv or raw binary. See the High Speed Data Capture Pro GUI User's guide for more info.

    3. The max capture size is 256M 16 bit samples for each channel.

    4. The TSW54J60EVM only has JESD204B serdes outputs. You will need a JESD204B capture platform to capture data. TI sells the TSW14J56EVM that will do this for you.
