ADS5263EVM: ADS5263EVM + TSW1400EVM

Part Number: ADS5263EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS5263

Dear Technical Support Team,

Does GUI of TSW1400EVM set the trigger threshold of waveform like oscilloscope?

For example, set trigger threshold at rising some point of sinewave and capture from this point.

Does trigger mode of GUI have only external trigger?

Best Regards,

ttd

  • Hi ttd,

    How are you?

    Thank you for using ADS5263EVM and TSW1400EVM.

    For your trigger question, I will reply to you very soon about couple days.

    Thank you very much!

    Best regards,

    Chen

  • Hi ttd-san,

    Yes, we are using TSW1400EVM to capture LVDS output data from ADS5263EVM
    through J3 ADC INTERFACE connector (underneath of TSW1400EVM).
    We also can use TSW1400EVM to do Trigger test for ADS5263EVM
    by connecting J11=EXT_TRG_INPUT (SMA) to J14=SYNC1 with a SMA cable
    also connecting J16=SYNC3 to ADS5263EVM's J18=SYNC with another SMA cable.
    On the TSW1400EVM, please connect its J12=+5V_IN to external 5V power supply
    and also please connect J5=USB_IF to your PC's USB connector.
    On the ADS5263EVM, please connect its J1=+5V and J2_GND to external 5V power supply,
    also please connect J13=USB to your PC's USB connector as well,
    also please connect J31=CLK_INP to external Clock signal generator,
    and also please connect J14, J17, J30 or J19 to your input signal
    (but right now we are testing RAMP PATTERN mode, then we don't need to connect any
    input signal for this case.)

    When you turn on and run ADS5263 GUI,
    we are setting the following steps:
    1) Self-Reset
    Address=0x00, Data=0x0001
    Address=0x46, Data=0x8800
    2) Global_PDN
    Address=0x0F, Data=0x0200
    Address=0x0F, Data=0x0000
    3) Enable Serialization, 16x enabled, 2-Wire
    Address=0x46, Data=0x0800
    Address=0x46, Data=0x8801
    4) set RAMP PATTERN
    Address=0x25, Data=0x0040
    5) set SYNC
    Address=0x02, Data=0x2000
    Address=0x25, Data=0x8040

    Then when you turn on and run TSW1400 (High Speed Data Converter (HSDC) Pro) GUI
    Look on top side and choose "Data Capture Options" -> "Trigger Option"
    Inside "Trigger Option" this page:
    please click "Trigger mode enable" button to be ON
    and click "Arm on next capture button" button to be ON
    and press "OK" button.
    Please select "ADS5263_2W_16b_bytewise" option

    And after all the above settings,
    on TSW1400 (HSDC Pro) GUI when you click on "Capture" button:
    You can start to capture output data from ADS5263 to TSW1400 capture board.

    Please try it.
    Hope you can see it is running with
    trigger option working like a scope.

    Thank you!
    Have a nice day!

    Best regards,
    Chen
