Hello.
I try to use AMC78xx chips in my project. What kind of USP to SPI adapter I can use for control AMC78xx?

Hi Konstantin,

We do not have a evaluation tool for the AMC7820, but we do have one for the AMC7812, AMC7832, AMC7834, and AMC7836.
AMC7812EVM

AMC7834EVM
AMC7836EVM

Their many simple USB to SPI tools, such as the Aardvark (www.totalphase.com/.../), the USB2ANY (www.ti.com/.../USB2ANY), and the NI USB-8451 (www.ni.com/.../model.usb-8451.html). TI does not have a software utility for this devices, unfortunately.

Thank you, Paul.
All other SPI devices in my project are Microchip chips. And I use MCP2210 USP to SPI. It works fine with byte based SPI devices. But, as I understood, AMC78xx needs word (16 bits) SPI traffic. I will see the links you sent me. Thank you.

USB2ANY looks good. Does TI provide Windows API for USB2ANY?

Hi Konstantin,

The purpose of the USB2ANY is for device evaluation, so we do not have a many API type resources. We offer the USB2ANY Software Explorer (www.ti.com/.../USB2ANY which you can use to generate SPI commands. I looked at the MCP2210 and it seems like it can support larger commands, so it should not be an issue to use that as well.

Thank you again, Paul. Another bus driver you told me is Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter has full control API for Windows x64. I will try it.
