ADS1298RECGFE-PDK: ADS1298RECGFE-PDK always display read register

I purchased ADS1298RECGFE-PDK, the software installation is no problem, the test is normal. I want to communicate with my ADS1296R board via the MMB0 board. After the SPI connection is successful, the software is opened and the read register is always displayed in the upper right corner.
Is the ADS1298RECGFE-PDK compatible with the ADS129X series of chips? I am using the ADS1296R.

Hi,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum!

Interfacing your own ADS1296R board with the MMB0 will not work because the MMB0 is searching for the EEPROM loaded onto the PDK boards so that it knows which firmware to run. As for replacing the ADS1298R on the ADS1298RECGFE-PDK with a ADS1296R, I believe it will work, but I have not tested it nor heard of anyone testing it so I cannot confirm.

As you say , I flying wire from MMBO board connect to U10 on the ADS1298RECGFE-PDK , It should be work , but unfortunately , It does not work . display still read register.

Why are you fly wiring the ADS1298ECGFE-PDK instead of connecting them using the headers? Does the error still show when the ADS1298ECGFE-PDK is connected to the MMB0 as intended? For clarity, please see figure 1 of this document: www.ti.com/.../sbau171d.pdf

Some of the signals on the J3 connector are not connected to the pins of my ADS1296R, including SPI_START and GPIO1 and GPIO2. Will it affect the system work?

Yes, the START pin is needed.
